COVID-19: What You Need to Know

Designer Exchange stores will soon be open again to you in June and this post is a guide for you to give you an idea of what has changed to ensure government guidelines are followed and your health and safety is priorotised above all else.

Social Distancing

During the busier times in-store Designer Exchange will be forced to limit the amount of customers entering the store and where possible there will be queue guidance outside the store. To help you maintain a distance of two metres from other customers and staff, you’ll find floor markings inside the stores to advise social distancing. There are also clear acrylic protector screens at the tills to keep the Designer Exchange staff safe.

PPE has also been stocked efficiently to ensure that safety options are available.

Card Payments & Vouchers

Designer Exchange will not be accepting any cash payments and instead will only be accepting card payments. Your vouchers will also be accepted as normal.

Demonstrations and Changing Rooms

Due to social distancing and the enforced changes to have both your safety and the staff's safety in mind, Designer Exchange will provide demonstrations of products behind the counter and will offer you the opportunity to inspect only once you have purchased. Customers will not be permitted to touch the items on display. Designer Exchange deeply apologises for the inconvenience this may cause and that this does not discourage you from purchasing your goods.

Returns Period
Previously the returns period for an item purchased in store was 48 hours back to a voucher. In light of the current situation and a customer’s inability to handle or try a product on, Designer Exchange is changing the policy to 48hours back to the way paid meaning you can try the item on at home and return if it is not acceptable. 

If you wish to return your item you will need to return the goods back to Designer Exchange in the same condition it was sold to you and needs to be accompanied by the sales receipt and the returns tag must not have been removed.

Selling Your Items

Designer Exchange is planning to return to buying when opened and your preloved fashion items can be sold for cash via bank transfer only or vouchers. Please be considerate with the cleanliness of your item when bringing it into store. Where possible, sanitize your items and place it in a bag so the Designer Exchange staff can take it out without any further interaction from yourself.

If Designer Exchange is unable to process buys from customers once open then this post will be updated.

Changes to store operating hours

In these unprecedented times, the stores may change the opening hours as necessary. These changes will be communicated as quickly as possible via the website but please be aware as information may not always be accurate.

Your Health and Safety

If you are feeling unwell and have any of the COVID-19 symptoms please do not come into store - instead please visit the designerexchange.com website. If you are showing signs of COVID-19 symptoms in store, you will be asked to leave and Designer Exchange may need to close the store to ensure the team can react accordingly to strong hygiene expectations.
