How to Recycle Your Wardrobe
Wednesday, 04 March 2020
Recycling your wardrobe can mean something different to everyone. To one woman it’s a complete overhaul, to another it’s swapping cash for clothes and to some it’s just about keeping the pieces you want and swapping out the pieces you don’t.
Whatever your inspiration for recycling your wardrobe, we can all agree it’s a pleasure to exchange something you don’t want for something you do. Right now, there could be a piece sitting in the back of your wardrobe that you could turn into a new-to-you item of clothing, pair of shoes or handbag at no extra cost.
Designer Exchange is committed to making sure we are as sustainable as can be. We love preloved and recycling is at the heart of everything we do. Rather than fast-fashion and trends that fall as quickly as they rise, we believe that everyone should reuse and recycle fashion in a way that does less harm to the environment and puts more money in your pocket.
Designer Exchange is proudly not a consignment store. When you recycle with us, we pay you up-front and directly for your designer items. Which means you can get shopping for what you really want as soon as possible.
Every piece you bring to us will be given three prices; the sell price, the cash price and the exchange price. The sell price is what the item will be sold for which is formulated based on a number of factors including, but not limited to: original retail price, brand, style, age, condition, material, colour and demand.
The cash price is what you will be offered as cash or into your bank account and the exchange price is what you will be offered on a voucher - which is always more than the cash price. These prices are formulated based on a set margin for that designer within that type of item - meaning that highly desirable brands like Chanel or Hermès always give you the best margin as a customer possible. It’s that simple. The hardest part is choosing between the cash and exchange price!
If you have something to sell then sell easily with Designer Exchange and contribute to the preloved economy instead of the landfill.
