Floral Dress

The Chelsea flower show is just around the corner, and we’re always up for a reason to embrace florals! In this blog, we’ll guide you on how to style florals and patterns the right way. Don’t forget to browse our collection of preloved floral pieces to put your new styling tips to the test.

Florals All Year Round

In the warmer months think lightweight fabrics like cotton, linen and chiffon in bright shades of lavender, yellow, coral and mint. Go for oversized blooms for a bold statement or dainty and ditsy prints for a more feminine, vintage feel. Florals aren’t just for Spring, transitioning into Autumn opt for deeper hues like burgundy, forest green, navy, and rust. Experiment with texture and wear luxe fabrics like velvet, jacquard, and satin, these give the pattern depth and warmth.

Pair Patterns with Solid Basics

Patterns look their best when they’re grounded by solid pieces, to make an outfit less noisy. Think a patterned midi skirt with a simple black top, or printed trousers with a beige trench coat. This approach is timeless and a no-brainer.

Mix Patterns with Intention

Feeling bold? Try pattern mixing. Stick to a unifying colour palette and vary the scale of pattern. For example, pair small polka dots with large florals, or narrow stripes with wide checks. This way, not too much will be going on. Keep accessories minimal to avoid clashing. Large patterns will dominate visually, leaving small patterns to be more subtle. Mixing them in this way keeps the eye engaged without chaos. This approach also enhances dimension in your outfit so your look is not overwhelming.
