The year 2022 witnessed a remarkable partnership between Italian luxury brands Tod’s and Moncler, alongside the urban streetwear label Palm Angels, the likes of which created these gorgeous shoes. These Gommino Loafers were part of a wider collection between the two brands which contained an array of apparel alongside two styles of shoe in two different colour ways. The collaboration was part of ‘Tod’s-FACTORY’, which offers an opportunity for new and established designers to offer a new perspective on Tod’s brand DNA. At the time of the release imagery was shared all over social media, dominating explore pages not just due to the iconic three-way collaboration, but also due to the iconic Niomi Campbell modelling the pieces in campaign imagery. The campaign imagery was inspired by the Miami lifestyle, picturing Niomi Lounging poolside and the Gommino Loafers covered in sand at the beach.

The collection was inspired by American sport style in the 1990’s featuring Moncler’s classic puffer jacket, Tod’s immaculate Italian craftsmanship and Palm Angels bright use of colour and graphic design, which added a playful feel. The Gommino Loafers in particular perfectly capture how two brands that are generally complete opposite can meld to create something innovative, new and exciting. The Loafers are a classic Tod’s silhouette, the most desired item from the brand, crafted with Italian leather. The loafer features a stunning square toe shape with their iconic pebble studded outsole which runs from the sole of the foot and up the back of the heel. The aesthetic of Tod’s generally sticks to simplistic and monochromatic design, and these shoes completely break that mould. With the influence of Palm Angels streetwear style, the tongue of the shoe has been decorated with bright, contrasting colours of burgundy and yellow to create the shape of a flame. The edge of the tongue is embossed with all three company logos.

The Gammino Loafer in this collaboration features two colourways: Black and Brown, both of which we are lucky enough to have in stock right now! This is a one-of-a-kind collaboration that oozes style and innovation and we have to say we’re obsessed!
