Three fresh ways to wear one blazer

Wednesday, 27 October 2021

Oversized. Slim. Tuxedo. The blazer is synonymous with a certain level of sophistication. A timeless piece to withstand the fluxes of fashion trends to come. It is without doubt a wardrobe workhorse that should be given its due for its versatility. With the addition of a few different accessories, the blazer can be tailored to suit virtually any occasion.

Here are three fresh ways to style that blazer in the back of your wardrobe...

Coffee date in the park

Now that we're able to socialise with friends outside in the park (from March 29th), we're ready to re-enter society with our best foot forward. This Max Mara cashmere gold button blazer is perfect to help stay warm when there's a bit of chill in the air.

When it comes to palette-cleansing pieces, nothing is fresher than a bright-white spring dress. As Zimmermann is synonymous with feminine summer silhouettes, this cut out mini dress is a no-brainer addition to your spring / summer wardrobe.

As we'll be spending more time outside, enjoying long park walks with a coffee in hand, staying comfortable is key. But there's no need to compromise on style. Keep your feet happy with these Alexander McQueen runway trainers.

Finish off the look with the Prada Cleo handbag - the perfect size to keep all your essentials on-hand as you enjoy the park with a friend.

Alfresco drinks at the pub

With pubs and non-essential retail set to re-open from April 12th, we're already planning our first out-out outfit. This is when the Max Mara blazer lends itself to adding a certain level of sophistication to any outfit.

Draped on top of this YSL polka dot blouse, this is your classic day-to-night outfit that seamlessly transitions between an office environment to after work drinks - one to bank for when we're forced out of our tracksuits!

Sticking to a clean silhouette, these Victoria Beckham tuxedo cigarette trousers are a wardrobe staple. They can easily be dressed up for Friday night drinks or styled casually with a simple white t-shirt and trainers.

To freshen up what is otherwise an all-black outfit, bring some fun to the look with your accessories and shoes. This Hermés Birkin 35 and Gucci red scarlet slip on heels add strikings pops of colour. Match with a bold red lip and you're all set to enjoy your first post-lockdown drink of choice in style.

When doing the big shop

The classic off-duty model look. Whilst we're slowly but surely returning to some sense of normality, we're still limited by what we can currently do. But the blazer's versatility knows no bounds, including achieving a laid-back but polished look.

To help keep things casual, this Gucci dragon sweatshirt in grey is a nice contrast against the black and sharp tailoring of the Max Mara blazer. Paired with these Stella McCartney trousers, keeps the look cohesive.

Add a bit of playfulness with these Stella McCartney x Stan Smith trainers in white with rainbow laces to add a pop of colour. Finally, chuck all your bits and pieces (and the kitchen sink) in this Balenciaga giant 21 workbag - the perfect outfit to run errands in.
