The Masters collection, LV X Koons collaboration

No stranger to artist and designer collaborations, earlier this week Louis Vuitton announced their latest limited edition collaboration with contemporary artist Jeff Koons. 'The Masters' collection sees Koon's 'Gazing Ball' series of historic paintings and sculptures reimagined into ready to wear Louis Vuitton icons.

Previous Louis Vuitton collaborations include Takashi Murakami, Stephen Sprouse, Yayoi Kusama and most recently streetwear giant Supreme. However, Koon's will be the first collaborator which has been allowed to design his own initial logo in the style of the signature LV Monogram.

'The Masters' collection features Louis Vuitton Monogram icons including the Speedy, Neverfull, Keepall, and Palm Springs with recreations of some of the greats' most famous masterpieces transposed onto the canvas. The accessories feature the Masters' name in reflective type including Van Gogh, Rubens, and Da Vinci to mirror Koon's reflective gazing ball. Each style also includes a leather inflatable Rabbit tag as a reference to Koon's most recognisable work and inside, a biography and portrait of the master whose work has been recreated onto the accessory.

We love the accents of blue, blush, magenta and lilac used for the collection in time for spring. For Louis Vuitton lovers everywhere, the collection will be available from April 28th.
