For Maria Grazia Chiuri's first cruise collection at Dior she took inspiration from wall paintings in Lascaux cave which she found Monsieur Dior himself used as inspiration in the house's archives. Set in Upper Las Virgenes Canyon in Calabasas California, the wild west infused collection had the perfect backdrop.

The collection's colour palette was made up of warm earthy shades of brown and orange with bold red, yellow and mustard, accented with blues and turquoise. Each look for the Cruise collection was accessorised with a western-style hat to compliment the truly authentic feel to the collection which was described as in "contact with natural elements" by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

What we were most excited about, of course, was the cruise accessories for next season which mainly featured existing handbag silhouettes which had been re-invented and embellished for 2018. A favourite of ours among the stellar pieces was the iconeic Dior monogram print on the D-fence saddle bag which Maria Grazia Chiuri had restored within the collection from John Galliano's Dior in the 00's.
